Double success for Cornerstone at the ITP Awards

22.10.2026

From simplifying site acquisition across the telecoms industry to strengthening our employee experience, two Cornerstone achievements have been recognised at this year’s Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP) Awards.

It was a fantastic evening for Cornerstone at the ITP Awards in London, with Dougie Currie named Telecoms Surveyor of the Year and our People team taking home the People & Culture Award for the second consecutive year.

Both awards recognise the commitment and hard work of colleagues who are making a real difference, within Cornerstone and across the wider telecoms industry.

Dougie Currie named Telecoms Surveyor of the Year

Site acquisition is one of the more complex parts of delivering mobile infrastructure. Bringing together operators, suppliers and landlords, often with different requirements and priorities, can create delays and unnecessary complexity.

Dougie has been working to change that.  Through his work on standardising Heads of Terms, developing rate cards and improving acquisition processes, Dougie and his colleagues have helped establish clearer, more consistent ways of working across the industry.

These improvements are helping reduce ambiguity, strengthen relationships and make it easier for everyone involved to progress infrastructure projects.  It’s work that often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt across the delivery process.

Reflecting on his award, Dougie said:

“I’m honoured to receive this award, but it really reflects the work of a much wider team. The progress we’ve made has only been possible through building stronger relationships and helping people better understand each other’s goals.”

For Dougie, the focus remains on what comes next, continuing to strengthen relationships with the landlord community, finding practical solutions to industry challenges and removing barriers to getting things done.

People & Culture Award for the second consecutive year

Another fantastic achievement for Cornerstone, with Ginette Kilroy and our People team securing the ITP People & Culture Award for the second year running.

The award recognises the team’s continued investment in recruitment, learning and development, employee engagement and inclusion.

Over the past year, Cornerstone has:

  • Successfully filled 101 roles, supporting the business as it continues to develop.
  • Delivered 271 learning experiences, helping colleagues build their skills and capabilities.
  • Maintained 70% employee engagement.
  • Recorded 87% positive sentiment on inclusion, with 90% of colleagues saying their team actively promotes it.

Behind these results is the ongoing work to improve the experience of working at Cornerstone, from bringing new colleagues into the business to creating opportunities for people to develop and progress their careers.

Ginette Kilroy said:

“Winning for the second-year running is an incredibly proud moment and a powerful reflection of the culture we’ve built together at Cornerstone.

“This recognition belongs to everyone across the business who brings that culture to life every day, supporting one another, embracing inclusion, and delivering for our customers and communities.”

Celebrating excellence across our industry

The evening also saw Alan O’Prey, CEO of Circet IRE & UK, receive the Outstanding Contribution to Industry Award, proudly sponsored by Cornerstone.

All the awards reflect the expertise, commitment and hard work of our colleagues, whether that’s helping improve the way our industry operates or making Cornerstone a better place to work.

Well deserved, and a great result for everyone involved.
